Meet Dr. Miriam Grushka
Meet Dr. Miriam Grushka
Dr. Miriam Grushka has received her DDS and a PhD in Oral biology from the University of Toronto, and has engaged in the practice of Oral Medicine and Orofacial pain for many years. She has previously been on the Faculty of Dentistry at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland and at the University of Illinois in Chicago. She has previously also worked in Germany with Dr. Thomas Hummel and at Yale with Dr. Linda Bartoshuk, on problems relating to taste and smell chemosensation.
She is Board certified by the American Board of Oral Medicine and the American Board of Orofacial Pain and is also a Certified Specialist in Oral Medicine in Ontario . She has published scholarly articles and book chapters and has delivered numerous presentations on topics including diagnosis and management of facial pain and sensory oral phantoms, Temporomandibular dysfunction ( TMD), Burning Mouth Syndrome (BMS).
Dr. Grushka currently maintains a private practice in Toronto limited to Oral Medicine and Orofacial pain and sees and treats many patients with facial pain, TMD, neuralgic pain, BMS, sensory phantoms and taste and smell concerns. . She is currently Courtesy Staff at William Osler Health Centre and Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Diagnostic Sciences-Oral Pathology at Tufts University.

Meet Dr. Peter Hong and Ms. Annie Siddiqui
Dr. Hong received his DDS from the University of Toronto, with honours, in 1983. After graduation, he worked in public health, and started a general practice in Toronto. He also worked at Sunnybrook Hospital as a staff dentist for over 30 years. He continues in clinical practice and teaches dental students at U of T.
Dr. Hong began working for the College on a part-time basis in 2001 as a Monitoring Officer, joined the Professional Liability Program as a Senior Dental Consultant in 2016 and became the Assistant Manager - Dental in 2019.
Ms. Annie Siddiqui Ms. Annie Siddiqui obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the Schulich School of Business, York University in 2009, a Master’s degree in Health Professional Education from Western University in 2012, and her law degree from the University of Ottawa in 2021. Annie articled and practiced as an associate lawyer at regional law firms in Toronto and Ottawa in the areas of personal injury, civil litigation and health law. Annie’s health law practice focused on defending regulated health professionals in litigation matters, regulatory proceedings, and before administrative tribunals. She has represented clients at various levels of Ontario Courts, including the Small Claims Court, the Superior Court of Justice and the Divisional Court. In July 2024, Annie joined the Professional Liability Program as a Legal Advisor.
